SA aims to keep 7s record
Vancouver pool stage prediction
THE 2020 Vancouver Sevens kicks off today with the Blitzbokke looking to continue where they left off in Los Angeles.
They’ve been grouped with England, Argentina and Japan.
Pool B sees reigning Olympic champions Fiji drawn with France, hosts Canada and Wales, who are currently occupying the relegation position and will be looking to pick up more points in the second half of the series.
Current series leaders New Zealand are drawn in Pool C and will face Ireland, Spain and Kenya, while Pool D consists of Australia, USA, Samoa and Scotland.
South Africa sit just four points behind New Zealand and have a chance to make up some points over the weekend. Sevens is an unpredictable game, but there are some metrics that do help with picking winners – and who doesn’t love gazing into a crystal ball?
If making sporting predictions is your thing, we’re here to try and help. Below you’ll find the predictions for the first round of pool games at the 2020 Canada 7s.
Prediction methodology explained
The expected win percentage is based on publicly available odds. For example, if a team’s odds are 2.30, the expected chance of winning is 43 per cent. If the odds are 1.62 the expected chance of winning is 62 per cent and so on. In graphics where values are missing for a team, they were not available at the time of writing. Percentages are correct at the time of writing, but are subject to change depending on team news and other factors.
