Krishna achieved another milestone in his already illustrious football career as he captained the ATK Football Club to its third Indian Super League final beating Chennaiyin Football Club 3-1 at the Jawaharial Nehru Stadium in Goa, India over the weekend.
“It's absolutely amazing being the captain of a club overseas and winning the finals," Krishna told The Fiji Times from India yesterday.
“It is my first time winning the finals as a captain so it’s extra special considering it's also my first year in India and for the club to consider someone who's not from a big football nation worthy to lead the team is a major morale booster for me.
“I want to pass my hearty vinaka vakalevu (thank you very much) to everyone who have been on this journey with me.
“Since I came to India last August, I've received so much love from everyone back home and I feel so blessed to have them cheering me on from afar.
Krishna returns to the country next week to spend some deserved quality time with his family after a hectic season.
"I'm returning to Fiji very shortly for a break and I'm looking forward to home cooked food especially."
