FUTSAL CORNER

- ■ FIJI FA MEDIA

THE adverse weather in the country disrupted the league games for late week in Southern Division and Western Division.

We hope that weather is favorable this week for the completion of both Western and Southern Futsal Leagues.

Vodafone Futsal IDC is around the corner and there is lot of excitement building up to the tournament which is scheduled from March 27– 29, 2020 at the National Hockey Center.

As part of this weeks edition on Futsal Corner, the Futsal department would like to acknowledge the work of Lami Futsal Association as it grows from strength to strength year by year.

It has set a standard which if all district follows will grow the standard of Futsal in the country. The league consist of 16 teams which every team plays two round of matches and a total of 30 games is guaranteed for each team in a season.

In addition to that, there is Cup matches in between the normal league games and its a knockout type competition.

As mentioned in the diagram on the right the player pathway in youth and senior as we prepare players for high performance level.

Lami futsal has players playing at participation level with increased number of players and game which helps Lami to pick the best players for performance level so that they get the best players for their district teams.

There are about 320 players participating in Lami league and they have the pool of players which they can make a formidable team in the District League.

We encourage all district or club teams to follow the same in making Fiji number one futsal country in the region.

Vinaka vakalevu and have a wonderful week
