- By LITIA CAVA

SCORES of people flocked to the Nausori ROC Market yesterday to take advantage of home-made products, food, handicrafts and other accessories on sale.

Among the vendors was Pravina Rae, a florist.

She has been operating her flower business for the past 12 years and also shared her knowledge with women who shared the same passion.

Ms Rae said she imported flowers from Netherlands and Bangkok.

She sold varieties of Bougainvillaea flowers, different varieties of anthurium flower, cactus and succulent plants.

Ms Rae said the flower industry was a growing market in Fiji.

She added it had high domestic demand with weddings and funerals happening on a daily basis and was also used for household and business decorations.

Ms Rae said even during the COVID-19 pandemic, her business continued to thrive.

“Everyone can start this kind of business and if one is passionate about something, then it’ll go a long way,” she said.

Close to 50 vendors were part of the market day.
