Market vending business

-

VANI Miriama, a 63-yearold market vendor at the Suva Municipal Market, who shared her life story with Losalini Vuki via The Fiji Times, had a timely advice to people who were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and were looking for a job.

Her advice was simple –– get out of the comfort zones as there were other ways to use their talent and earn money during this difficult COVID-19 time.

She added she was happy to see the number of young people venturing into the market vending business.

The COVID-19 pandemic has given a lot of prominence to agriculture as people have ventured into flower business and vegetable selling even to the extent of going house-tohouse selling the fruits of their labour.

Despite her age, Vani works late in the evening to sell her produce so that she could meet her family’s needs and wants.

Good on you Vani Miriama!

Thank you Losalini Vuki and The Fiji Times for yet another powerful and inspirational story!
