AL Hamd Smart Living opened a new multimillion dollar showroom in Nadi yesterday, paving the way for more investments by the family-owned company.

Company managing director Ashfaq Ahmad Khan said the showroom was part of the firm’s ongoing expansion nationwide, spurred on by the State’s efforts to encourage economic activity.

“We have full confidence in the growth of Fiji’s economy and here we are celebrating another milestone with the opening of this showroom/warehouse/office complex,” he said.

“Our core business is still around furniture as our local furniture factory still makes furniture to specification, but we have also diversified our range to include school desks and chairs, office chairs, metal office furniture, workstations, office and conference tables.

“All our range of goods are sourced from certified and reputable international manufactures.

“Consequently, we are able to honour a five-year no-fuss return warranty for our furniture.

“Another area of our growth is the sale of a range of residential and commercial LED light fittings as well as solar light fittings.

“Use of LED and solar light fittings are most appropriate and should be encouraged in today’s context, when everyone is responsible for reducing the impact of carbon emission.”

He said the company maintained a philosophy centered on customer care.

“Our market penetration is virtually Fiji-wide including some remote islands.

“We plan also to open a branch in Lautoka and extend our Suva branch by the end of this year as we see a great future ahead.”

Al Hamd Smart Living opened its first shop in Nadi in December 2012 with the family business dating back to 1965 with their first furniture and joinery shop.
