For Fiji rugby

-

THE current Fiji Corrections Service Commissioner Francis Kean’s term as FRU chairman is now over, but the majority of rugby lovers appreciate the many changes and achievements that came about during his term.

This does show off the true personal character of the person, professionalism, and discipline with perseverance to achieve nothing but the best for Fiji rugby during a very difficult period and that is a legacy in itself.

From a career senior naval officer, to his posting as a senior civil servant (permanent secretary) and now may be his final salute before retirement as Fiji Corrections Commissioner apart from the many sporting achievements and as board member of the many government statutory authorities. We bid him farewell for now from the Fiji Rugby Union HQ and thank you Francis for being true to all your many callings of service for the country together with your many personal sacrifices, but for those of us who know you personally, this may not be your last hooray turaga!

One thing your circles do know, standing for election as a candidate is just around the corner, mark my word boys.

I believe this was always going to happen and it was just a matter of time.

The pressure was mounting and it had to give!

The pressing question here is what difference will this small change make?

It sure leaves a lot to be desired!

Ryan made sure that he assembled the “best”. Ryan also led Fiji to back to back HSBC WRSS overall titles (2014-15 and 2015-16). Hence, Baber will need a top draw effort to get the “best”.

This means roping in the “best” local and international players for the Olympics where opposition will come from NZ, South Africa and Australia.

All the best Baber!
