Social ills

-

I AM devastated seeing pictures of a mother grieving for her daughter who was allegedly murdered so cruelly.

A little life is lost in her own compound. Such daring acts is a trend to be worried about.

Where else can one be safe?

This is what we should ponder on. Couldn’t the respected Jia be saved?

Are we so vulnerable that we allow fate to dictate?

There can be many answers.

There may have been triggers which may have been ignored.

There may be lots of laws on protecting humans which are essential but is there such a thing in protecting humanity and values of life.

Empires and rich entities have evolved to greater heights at the expense of loss of dignity for humanity and respect for the poor and the vulnerable.

We cannot afford personal security guards and even having one is not full proof.

I believe the only answer to such ill-conceived killers is “family”.

Humanity can only be practised beginning with family and commitment by elders in each family.

Sitting with the trends of technology will only promote love for gadgets and invisible data, not real humans.

Although debatable, I believe the issue is real and needs genuine solutions.
