Celebration time

I WAS taken aback when I read (FT 24/07) that the Government has put aside $250,000 for Fiji Day celebrations.

No plans have been revealed and I do hope they will shelve this.

I doubt very much there is anything to celebrate during these hard times.

That money could be put to good use feeding many families whose fathers and/ or mothers have been made redundant. ALLEN LOCKINGTON
