FORMER Fiji 7s player Amenoni Nasilasila did not play in the match between Namosi and Tailevu on Saturday in the first round of the Skipper Cup competition.

The Fiji Times published Nasilasila's name in the Namosi line-up which was provided to us for the game against Tailevu on Saturday July 25, however he did not participate or named on the 23 member squad that played.

Meanwhile, World Rugby in a statement, has made its decision that it does not condone any person convicted of a serious crime and currently serving his or her sentence to undertake any official rugby activity under his or her union's jurisdiction.

The statement was released on Saturday with regards to reports regarding the alleged participation of Nasilasila for the Namosi team even though he did not participate or was named in the line-up against Tailevu in the first round of the Skipper Cup competition.

World Rugby addressed that rugby's core values are fundamental to the game and it will continue to drive positive action to ensure they are reflected across the sport, on and off the field.

As such, World Rugby is fully supportive of and will continue to work with Oceania Rugby and its Unions on the important work being undertaken in the region in partnership with ChildFund and UN Women.
