Video given by ‘member of august house’ claims Kumar

- By LUKE RAWALAI

SUVA schoolteacher Kishore Kumar claims he was given a pornographic video which contained a woman who allegedly looked like National Federation Party parliamentarian Lenora Qereqeretabua by another “member of the august house”.

He made the claim in an interview with The Fiji Times yesterday.

Mr Kumar said he had apologised to Ms Qereqeretabua on his Facebook page and did not mean to publicly defame her about the “leaked pornographic video”.

Mr Kumar said he must have poorly communicated the fact that he intended to query Ms Qereqeretabua on whether she was the woman in the video because English was his second language.

He claimed the video he had handed over to police after being taken into custody earlier this week featured a woman who allegedly looked like Ms Qereqeretabua.

Mr Kumar apologised for the videos he admitted to posting on Facebook under the Kishore Kumar Publications page and claimed “it may be wrongly taken as an open attack on Ms Qereqeretabua”.

“I was given the video by a member of the august house whose identity I cannot reveal.

“If I reveal their identity there would be civil unrest in the country.”

He claimed he had been bold and vocal about the video on Facebook because he had the backing of very influential people in society who had deserted him when complaints were lodged with the authorities about his Facebook posts.

When asked whether he felt that his postings were careless and irresponsible considering he was a school teacher, Mr Kumar claimed he had only intended to ask Ms Qereqeretabua whether she was the woman in the video adding he may have put across the wrong message since English was his second language.

When approached for comment yesterday, Ms Qereqeretabua said she did not want to comment on the issue nor on the video of Mr Kumar’s apology that he had posted on the Kishore Kumar Publications page recently.
