YASAWA, LAUTOKA FACE DEMOTION
THE Labasa women's football team is one game away from following the men's team by winning the Inter District Championship at the ANZ Stadium.
Labasa defeated an experienced Suva pack by 3-1 in the first semi-final yesterday.
The Babasiga Lioness head coach Arthur Simmons said morale was down when both teams were locked at 1-all in the halftime break.
"They just needed motivation and I told them that we are fitter and we have many scoring opportunities so we just have to execute it well as a team," said Simmons.
"We still have some areas we need to work on before the main game and we want to stamp our mark this year.
"We have been lacking in our midfield so we will focus on that before the final.
Meanwhile the second semi-final was played between defending champions Ba and Rewa.
