Fiji to appoint new high commissioner to India

FIJI will announce the appointment of a new High Commissioner to India soon.

Acting permanent secretary for Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Yogesh Karan told this newspaper that current high commissioner Yogesh Punja was “finishing off” in New Delhi.

Mr Karan said the Fijian

Government has identified a new high commissioner for India.

“They are working on the credential papers of the new high commissioner now,” he said.

“The name will be announced once the agreements are signed.”

Questions emailed to Mr Punja in India remained unanswered when this edition went to press last night.
