Concert to help visually impaired kids

- By ARIETA VAKASUKAWAQA

A CONCERT to assist the visually impaired at the Fiji Society for the Blind will be held at the Suva Civic Centre auditorium next month.

The Mana Voyage in Darkness — I See Love In your Eyes Art Initiative — will feature local artists, singers and dancers.

Tickets for the event are being sold at the Single Origin (Redox), Cafe 30 and ROC Cafe.

Organiser Jane Seam said Fiji was the most fascinating place for art.

She is the wife of European Union ambassador to Fiji and the Pacific Sujiro Seam.

Being an artist herself, she said she was very excited when she discovered that Fijians were talented.

“After I came to Fiji, I decided to keep supporting art and with all my amazing discovery, Fiji is the most fascinating place for art,” Mrs Seam said.

“It is a place where you can follow your art.

“I want to support Fijian culture, art and music, so that is why I wanted to support kids who are visually impaired.”

She said she wanted to support people living with disabilities so they had selected some of Fiji’s best artists, singers and dancers to showcase their talents at the concert.

An auction and art night will be held at the EU ambassador’s residence on December 10.

The concert, which will include prominent singers such as Savuto Vakadewavosa, Ken Janson and Tom Mawi, will be held on December 12.

Tickets range from $30 to $120.
