Climate challenge barrier to progress
FIJI’S progress as a country will be defined by how we adapt to the climate challenge. Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama made this comment at the opening of the Nabukadra Village sea wall project in Ra yesterday.
“As one of our nation’s many low-lying communities, you are painfully familiar with the impact that the rising seas, stronger storms, and changing weather patterns have had on Fiji’s development,” said Mr Bainimarama.
He said the sea wall would be a buffer between the homes and the encroaching tides.
