Festive season
THE front page of The Fiji Times has been brightened with those Christmas decorations reminding readers that we are in the festive season.
After Diwali, supermarkets have been fast with their festive season decorations and Christmas songs have hit the air.
Boy, time flew and we are days away from 2021.
I remember the excitement with which we welcomed 2020 not knowing that it would give us many bitter memories because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Today is December 2, and it’s a special day for me as I celebrate my birthday, but then again it’s my first birthday without my biggest fan –– my mother whom I lost in March this year.
My birthday won’t be the same as I will miss mum’s wish and handmade savouries. As I reflect back at the months that were, I realised we lost something valuable for us.
The festive season, I’m sure will cheer people up and bring back some smiles.
The WRSS events in Dubai and South Africa would have also kicked off and I miss international sevens. I hope our students are preparing well for their external examinations.
My best wishes Fijians for the month of December! RAJNESH ISHWAR LINGAM Nadawa, Nasinu
