LAUTOKA PAIR GET GOLF TITLE

THE President's & Trustees'sponsored two men 18 holes stroke event was a grand success at the Lautoka Golf Club course on Saturday.

Forty golfers participat­ed in the first of the fundraiser event that collected $1000 which was for victims of Tropical Cyclone Yasa.

Tournament organiser Raymond Singh and club president Chong Lee were content with the initial amount collected.

"My main mission was to raise $5000 which we were confident to raise," Singh said.

The winners were given fantastic prizes on the day. Pastor Pritam Singh and pastor Bharat Ram were declared the outright champions on a superb 56.25 net. Senitiki Cakau paired with Manwal Ajay for the second spot on 60. Prem Chand and Davendra Mudaliar claimed the third prize on 61.25 on a countback from Ba duo, Jyoti Lal and Pradeep Chandra, who had to take out fourth place.

Junior Jay Shiva Ram and Dr Ganesh Chand were awarded the beginners category on 72.5.

"The nearest to pin (NTP) award on the second hole went to Dinesh Chand, and Shalendra Prasad on the ninth hole. Rohit Chandra hit the longest drive on the third hole."
