- By ATELAITE RACIVA

MOVED by the devastation caused by super storm Yasa in his village of Kubulau, Bua, Paula Bale sought to gather relief supplies to assist his people.

He said the widespread devastation caused by the Category 5 cyclone in the province of Bua was unparalleled.

Mr Bale said 30 homes were destroyed and more than 100 homes were partly damaged by STC Yasa.

“By the looks of it, the financial implications of the damage sustained this time by STC Yasa will exceed the one left behind by Winston,” he said.

Mr Bale used social media to get word out that he was accepting emergency supplies for the people of Bua at his Yasiyasi Rd, Nadera residence.

He said contributions ranging from bedding, clothes, sanitary items, food rations and water were brought to his doorstep.

“We are really touched by the people’s generosity towards our people in Kubulau.

“These tremendous contributions will be used gratefully by our people,” he added.

Mr Bale said he planned to depart for Vanua Levu on Wednesday, December 23 to give the people of Kubulau the muchawaited emergency supplies as food supply was expected to last only three days.
