- By MONIKA SINGH

MONEY transfers to any MyCash wallet in Fiji, Samoa, and Tonga have been made possible through Digicel’s new website and app via a partnership with WorldRemit.

A statement from Digicel said Digicel International was a digital one-stop-shop providing a suite of services, which enabled transactions for people to support their loved ones, bringing them together from all corners of the world, shortening the distance between them.

“From now on, any MyCash customer in Fiji, Samoa, and Tonga can receive money from abroad directly to their mobile wallet via digicelinternational. com,” said Digicel’s head of mobile financial services, Anup Kumar.

“Friends or family members sending money will log in to the website or app and click on the send money feature. Then, they will be received by the recipient within minutes and available for them to spend on any purchases they would like,” he said.

According to Mr Kumar the new website and app enable top up, send money, bill pay, and other transactions under one single platform, adding that when customers visit digicelinternational.com, they will send money directly to MyCash wallets, an important feature of the digital ecosystem in the Pacific Islands.

The mobile money transfer service is available through the Digicel International website and App, which can be downloaded via Google Play and the App Store.

To send money, customers only have to visit the Digicel International website or open their Digicel International app and choose the “Send Money” option, and follow the steps on their screen. After choosing their destination, they will select “Digicel mobile money account” when making their mobile money transfer.
