$410k bonus payout for 400 staff
FIJI Ports Terminal Ltd (FPTL) yesterday announced a performance payout of $410,000 that will be shared among 400 permanent employees, registered workers and day contractors of the company for the financial year ended December 31.
Chairman Hasmukh Patel yesterday said it had been another year of success for FPTL and their people, the staff of FPTL who had immensely contributed to this success.
“It is an opportune time for FPTL to recognise and reward our employees for their efforts and contribution,” he said.
Similar to previous years the performance payout is based on assessment of individual KPIs and performance management system.
“Economic impact of the global pandemic has been tremendous and port being the face of trade is the first to experience its impacts,” he said.
Mr Patel said since the COVID-19 pandemic, there had been a gradual decrease in cargo/container volumes transiting ports and it was expected to decrease by 18 to 20 per cent compared with the year 2019.
Regardless of these challenges FPTL continues to invest in its employees.
“Our progress and success depends on the progress and success of our employees.
“It is important that they feel valued and their contribution is acknowledged and recognised.”
The performance payout is only one of many ways the company has rewarded employees since 2013 to recognise their contribution to the company's prosperity.
Mr Patel also extended his gratitude to the line ministry, board of directors, management and staff without whom the year would not have been a success.
