Final reading session

-

IT has been an interesting year for the Vunilagi Book Club, one the students will not forget.

COVID-19 has changed the way we do a lot of things.

Shirani Mani, 14, a Year 8 student of St Marcellin loves math and wants to be a doctor when she grows up.

Mani is no stranger to the group. She has been part of the group from the beginning of the journey.

“My favourite book is Goosebumps because its interesting and creative. It tells us about things we do not know like different kind of animals, said Mani.

Saturday, November 11 was the last day for the Vunilagi Book Club reading session with the children of Nanuku Settlement.

KAILA! was fortunate to receive an invitation from the founder of Vunilagi Book Club Mariana Waqa.

Children were divided in to groups with a volunteer reading to the children. There were four volunteers to looking after the children.

Children were asked to write about what they’ve learned during the year.

It was interesting to hear what they were thankful for.

It was lovely to see how children were engage to the program.
