Veiuto prize giving
THE Veiuto Primary School senior Class of 2020 held a special prize awards night at the Yue Lai Hotel in Suva last week.
Thirteen students were awarded special awards during the night.
Dux recipient Hannah Tearoko said she was honoured and thankful to be awarded the dux prize during her final year at the school.
“I would like to thank God, my parents and everyone that has supported me through everything,” she said.
“I’ve been accepted at Yat Sen Secondary School and I look forward to attending that school.”
She said she wanted to be a general surgeon when she grew up.
“I’ve always admired doctors in movies and I like helping people. I also think that being a surgeon is a worthy profession”.
Her advice to young students out there is that anything is possible.
“If you believe it, have courage and you’re brave enough to do things then you can get any awards you would like in the future.”
The all-rounder awards went out to Ratu Asaeli Rokovucago and the Pride of Veiuto award recipient was Ro Tirisiane Kiliraki.
About 130 students with their parents, guardian and teachers were part of the awards night.
