Tough times ahead

-

IF 2020 hit people hard, we shouldn’t be expecting 2021 to be anything better as far as the economic downturn and cost of living are concerned.

Until borders open and our tourism industry stabilises, we will have to depend a lot on the agricultural industry to take us through.

I’m sure it’s going to be a bleak year for families who are struggling because of the COVID-19 pandemic (job losses, reduced hours and reduced pays) and those who have been affected by STC Yasa.

This is where I’m banking on good Samaritans to reach out to the poor and needy so that our children are not deprived from getting educated.

Together we can help send our young ones to school.

On the other hand, hats off to good Samaritans who have already helped families with their children’s educational needs. It’s this time of the year where Fijians must join hands to help each other.

A little help will do in areas which are facing the brunt of COVID-19 and STC Yasa.
