Hussein nails final tourney

NATIONAL golf rep and five times Lautoka Open golf champion Abid Hussien nailed the 168 Seafood Restaurant-sponsored season closing 18 holes stroke championsh­ip at the Lautoka Golf course last Saturday with a 3 under par 66 gross.

Sanjay Raj came out firing with a superb 60 to grab the overall nett. Dennis Singh continued his fine form to claim the A-grade title on 66, followed by veteran Vinod Chand on 67 , a shot clear of Fiji Golf Club’s Mohammed Rizwan on 68.

Newcomer, Ansarul Khan was the toast of the B-grade with a solid 63. Dr. Vimal Murthi posted a handy 67 for 2nd spot on a countback from Vikash Chand.

Beginner, Reginald Ram claimed his inaugural C-grade title on 66. Former, Lautoka Football

Associatio­n president, Shalendra Prasad netted 70 for second placing. Young Aariz Khan came in third on a countback at 72 from Dinesh Chand.

Journalist Maika Kasami and Noor Ali shared the beginners category on 82.

Roneel Prakash grossed a tidy 70 to easliy account for the Profession­al prize. NTP on the 2nd hole to Abid Hussein and Gaffar Ali on the 9th hole.

Lawrence Naidu hit the longest drive on the 3rd hole.

LGC president, Chong Lee thanked sponsor Raymond Chen for the fantastic prizes awarded to the many winners.

42 golfers graced the golf links course.
