The Fiji Times

Special thanks

THE new year has just started and a lot has transpired over the past two weeks.

Two accidents where lives were lost, Trump’s outrage and melodramas, major cyclone effects and a few cases of typhoid.

I believe certain things cannot be controlled and certain negative things unfold because of sheer carelessness.

Some decide to learn from their mistakes and work hard to have a better future while some simply just sit and blame other people and situations.

No matter what, life keeps rolling forward. There are certain things and people who might never change or might never get out of their comfort zones. It is better to stop expecting anything out of them.

It is very important for one’s mental peace at times to let people think that they are right although knowing the situation.

Every single day, we are moving forward and not going backwards.

Many situations keep unfolding but dwelling on the past will always make people get stuck to some extent. Learn from the past but keep your arms open to embrace the future and things to come.

We are very fortunate that The Fiji Times provides this platform to raise issues and opinions.

Various interesting views are published and people feel free to express themselves. It is a fair and neutral newspaper that neither take sides nor is being selective when it comes to different views. In this world where people are being suppressed from speaking their minds, The Fiji Times has given a space for people to be vocal. Some people hate vocal people and would tag them otherwise.

Thank you, The Fiji Times, for the ongoing, wonderful work and for providing this open forum for people to air their grievances and ideas.

Thank you for enlightening people with news from all around which helps people to stay updated with what’s going on and to help some people get the help they need. Thank you for being the voice of so many. To the directors, thanks for being the backbone of The Fiji Times.

Plenty proud readers are out there and please accept this acknowledgement from us all.

To the editor-in-chief, Fred Wesley, no words to describe the work you do. A wonderful human being with wonderful working skills. May God bless you and all The

Fiji Times stakeholders.

To the readers, thanks for your acknowledgements towards our views in the open column and the writers, all the best for this year ahead.
