Fiji FA to conduct workshop
FIJI Football Association is hosting its inaugural competition and club licensing workshop today and tomorrow at its academy at Vatuwaqa, Suva.
The workshop was postponed in December because of Tropical Cyclone Yasa.
Fiji FA competitions manager Amitesh Pal said it was compulsory for district presidents and secretaries with their officials for women’s football, futsal, and youth divisions to attend.
“The workshop will start at 10am on Saturday where there will be a need for all the districts, futsal, youth, and women’s representatives to attend with their presidents and secretaries,” Pal said.
“Saturday will mainly be concentrated in the area of competitions and administration. For Sunday, the main topic for discussion will be Fiji FA Club Licensing and all the premier division district presidents and secretaries will be required to attend until 2pm.”
Pal said the views and contributions of premier division association presidents and secretaries would be noted during the Fiji FA Club Licensing Regulations segment discussions which would eventually make it compulsory for all premier division clubs from July 2021 to be licensed.
“The workshop is very important as we have started our preparations for the 2021 season and all stakeholders, especially the district officials’ contributions are needed.”
Pal said a similar workshop for the Northern Division would be held in Labasa next week.
