Lami boss pleased with team

- ■ FIJI FA MEDIA

DESPITE the defeat against Rakiraki in the Digicel Senior League last Sunday, Lami Football Association president Keshaw Ram Sharma says he is pleased with the team’s performance.

“To be honest I am actually not disappointed with the outcome of the match but I am impressed,” said Sharma.

Sharma said they suffered a huge setback ahead of the match as most of the senior players didn’t turn up for training.

“We took a very new and young team but the boys really played well and gave their hearts out in the match,” he said.

“We conceded an early goal which cost us but we dominated the game and were unlucky after three attempts was cleared away from the goal line by Rakiraki defenders,” said Sharma.

Sharma urged fans to be patient as they were still building up the team.

“We have revived this year and our aim is to build a good team with these young players which will take time but surely will be a team to reckon in future.

“I would like to thank each and everyone who have supported us until now and have blessed us in any way,” said Sharma.

Sharma said they had a huge task this weekend when they faced the star-studded Tailevu Naitasiri side.

“We will play Tailevu Naitasiri this Sunday and we will surely make them run for their money. We know they are a very strong and experienced side but we will work out our plan to battle them,” said Sharma.

“I urge our fans to come out in numbers to support in our campaign to build a better Lami football.

“I would like to thank GO2 Solutions for coming on board last week and sponsoring travelling T-shirts for our team,” said Sharma.

Lami will face Tailevu Naitasiri this Saturday at the Uprising Sports Center at 1pm.
