Rewa eyes Suva in round two

- By NOA BIUDOLE

REWA head coach Ro Alivereti Doviverata said his team had mentally reset to a clean slate after last week’s Fare brother Sullivan Trophy challenge and is prepared to host the Skipper Provincial Cup defending champion Suva tomorrow.

“The challenge is over and although it was not the outcome we wanted, we have put it behind us and channelled our focus to another big game against Suva this week,” Doviverata said.

“We have analysed our game against Nadi and this week we worked on some areas that needed addressing.”

Despite Suva’s shock 2517 loss to Nadroga at home last weekend, Doviverata said they had not read too much into the result.

“Suva is the defending champion and will be out to set a statement. Playing in our back yard will be a challenge for us and we won’t give anything away easily.”

Doviverata said a mission the team had set this year was to win to defend and win all games at home.

“We want to set a benchmark for ourselves and our players are working hard on that, and we look forward to a great game ahead.”

Meanwhile, three players will make their debut for Rewa this weekend.

Isireli Biumaiwai debuts in the number eight jersey with Semi Tauyavuca and Iosefo Namoce named in the reserve.

Rewa hosts Suva at the Burebasaga District School ground tomorrow at 3pm.
