“COVID 19” the headline that changed the world

Turning lives to a bitter cold.

Rooting its foot in Wuhan China,

The vicious virus quickly spread its tentacles everywhere.

The deadly virus encompassed a strange fear

Restricting movement and travel from every sphere.

Life changed from all directions With the new normal additions Boarder closure, quarantine stays, Forced lockdowns and cut in pays. The tourist industry had the worst nightmare

With uncrowded airports and emptiness everywhere.

Smile walked away as despair, depression and destitute walked in.

Life was terrorised, ravaged and deprived, tears “poured out’’, within.

The waves of suffering smiled a sarcastic smile

Could human failure be synonym of such dreaded missile?

In came the face masks, gloves and standard hygiene

People walked in solitary selfishness, a new regime.

People lost freedom of the western world

As boredom laughed hilariously at the four walls

But the deadly disease didn’t do all wrong!

Because families stayed together and their bonds grew strong.

Independent learning sprouted, Netflix found its place where it wanted.

And finally time was “borrowed” from busy life,

To rejuvenate, rekindle and revive the forgotten side.

Scientists searched for the new drug formula

Which could wipe corona virus and keep streets clear.

Finally 2021 season saw a dawn of hope When the new Oxford –AstraZeneca vaccine dwindled its scope

But... the killer COVID claimed three million lives,

Stamping the Year 2020 with a history of sad archives.
