Simon’s opinions

-

SIMON Hazelman has to realise that many are now aware of his thoughts about our government’s stance.

It is good to be optimistic but to be always thinking in one straight line can be a dangerous scenario.

In any situation both sides of the coin are very important. Having experience of life does not mean you are always right. It does not mean you are always wrong either.

Any government that would come into place will have their own way of dealing with stuff.

Steven Chandra’s point of view can be understood. Tourism is very important for our country’s economy no doubt, but not in the hands of destruction.

Let’s start from lifting the curfew, getting started with the Bula Bubble, getting all if possible, vaccinated and then finally opening the borders for all.

As for other governments coming in the future, they will find it hard without tourism to operate at fast progressive ways so they will have to take things at a snail’s pace with whatever is available like our agriculture and sugar.

We are so dependent on the tourism industry and this COVID pandemic has made us realise that, but it is just not because of COVID.

As for legalising marijuana, once again let me reiterate, this is a developing country and the mind-set of people are all not the same and many might not be able to handle this lucrative and damaging operation in a systemic manner.

There is a tendency for the situation getting out of control but for medical purpose it should be considered under guidelines and protocols.

Consequences are an important factor when thinking outside the box and rationally.

Mr Hazelman you are entitled to your opinions although I believe it is from one angle but the reality is this, that with any action, consequences follow.

Every action has a reaction. I believe you have already underestimated the upcoming powers to be predicting it from the unfortunate incident that has been thrown at us. Certain things can only be evaluated with time.

It is one thing to think rationally, logically and outside the box and to ignore the consequences, and to totally undermine is another.

Let’s give it time with respect and hope that things will get better.

Yes, both by people and divine intervention as both are important.

Unless you can predict the future, let’s be a bit respectful and go with the flow. Little by little we are getting there. Our economy will bounce back. It’s just that it will take time. I just wish it happens before my hair goes gray. KIRTI PATEL
