Toyota Hiace KDH200 2018

WE might not watch the Fast and Furious quite as often any more but one thing is for sure it left an impression many car enthusiasts can’t shake off.

Whether the producer intended to or not they managed to alter car culture in a pretty significant way. Shymeel Khan is one of them. A graphic designer by profession and Smart Deals Company director his love for cars started after he watched Fast and Furious — an action movie based on illegal street racing.

The 27-year-old owns a Toyota Hiace KDH200 2018 with an engine capacity of 2500cc turbo diesel and a maximum speed of 180kmph.

He says the Toyota Hiace KDH200 2018 is a daily driven commercial vehicle and also used in car shows.

“I bought the vehicle from Asco Motors and it’s a commercial vehicle and driven at 60kmph,” Mr Khan said.

Modifications done on the car includes HKS blow off valve, sonar projector aftermarket headlights, vland aftermarket rear tail-lights, carbon fibre lip splitters, carbon fibre weathershield, carbon fibre door pillars, race chip gets tuned and 18x9.5 wheels.

“The vehicle went through two modification stages,” Mr Khan said.

“The first modification cost me around $4000 while the second stage of modification cost me $7000.”

He says modifying a car takes a lot of time, preparation and patience especially if you want a positive outcome.

“For my vehicle, it took me months of planning and thinking of the end result of this project.

“Preparation started from November last year.”

Mr Khan said he ordered the car parts, kits and accessories from overseas.

He said this was his second car project and something he’s proud of.

It has always been a childhood dream to build my own show car and this is actually my second car show project.

“The first project was a candy red Toyota Fielder 2005 built in 2017 registration known as SUSPCT.”

While there are plans in place to do more modifications for now he says he is content with what he has.

“I’m hoping to upgrade the engine component for more power hopefully on the next car show,” Mr Khan said.

He advised car enthusiasts who were into modifications to look for appropriate garages.

These garages would help them upgrade their vehicles to the condition they want.

“Use branded parts that would not harm the engine components,” he urged.

Mr Khan hopes to own a Nissan Skyline R34 GTR V Spec II one day.
