Lautoka maintains league lead

THE Lautoka football side has maintained its lead in the Digicel Premier League after the completion of round six last weekend.

The Viti Flow Waterspons­ored side fought hard to beat the Moshin’s Insulation Nadroga side 1-0 at Churchill Park in Lautoka last Sunday with a goal from top striker Sairusi Nalaubu.

The Blues are on top of the table with 13 points after four wins, one draw and one loss.

Rewa after an impressive 2-0 win against Ba at the same venue has moved up to second spot with 11 points after three wins, two draws and a loss. Setareki Hughes and Tevita Warainival­u scored a goal each for the Delta Tigers.

Labasa after a win against the Unique Rubber Stamp Suva side last weekend climbed up to third spot with ten points. They are unbeaten in the competitio­n with two wins and four draws. Akemi Ralulu scored the lone goal for the Babasiqa Lions.

Esy Kool Nadi side is now in fourth place after a draw against Navua at the Uprising Sports Center on Sunday.

The Jetsetters have won two matches, drawn three and lost one and sit with nine points.

Ba and Suva are equal on points but the Men-inBlack sits in fifth position with better goal difference from the Capital City side who are in sixth place.

Navua is in seventh position with a win and two draws while Nadroga side sits at the bottom of the points table with two points.

Meanwhile in the end of the first round of competitio­n Labasa will host Lautoka at Subrail Park in Labasa, Nadroga will play Navua, Suva will face Ba and Nadi will challenge Rewa.
