FREDDY Chand of South Pacific Boxing Promotions has signed up Siliveni Nawai to feature against Jese Ravudi in the main bout of his boxing extravaganza scheduled to be hosted at Nadi’s Prince Charles Park on Saturday May 22.

Chand said Nawai was the next best available option after incumbent Ronald

Naidu withdrew citing medical reasons.

Mulomulo Boxing Club’s Nawai will be challenging Ravudi for the Super Welterweight belt in a 10x3 minute contest in the main bout.

The main supporting bout will feature Nawai’s fellow compatriot Shamal Ram Anuj squaring up against Ritesh Goundar of Seaside Boxing Club for the newly-introduced and vacant Super Bantamweight belt of Fiji in a 10x3 minute slugfest.

Meanwhile, Chand said the boxing program would most likely be deferred to the following month pending the Ministry of Health’s approvals pertaining to the current health crisis, if it worsens.

“We will move the program to the month of July if the present scenario with COVID-19 escalates, God unwilling.

“The exact date will be ascertained if it comes to that situation.”

It has been confirmed by the Labasa native the venue will remain the same.

There will be 10 professional boxing contests with four exhibition bouts.

The much-anticipated second boxing fiesta will commence at 1.30pm

Tickets are priced at a reasonable $20 for the main grandstand and a flat rate of $30 for ringside applies.
