Dorovolomo buys ticket, puts bet on Fijian Drua
I THINK the Fijian Drua side have been sending a strong message to the Super Rugby committee that they have what it takes to compete against huge and well established teams.
These were the words of a diehard Drua fan Jeremy Dorovolomo while buying tickets for the game against the Highlanders from the Jack’s Fiji outlet at Damodar City, Suva yesterday.
“Despite some setbacks in the competition, I believe the Drua players has a lot to show the world what they are capable of,” he said.
“A good example would be our Fijiana Drua squad.”
He said the Fijiana Drua’s win in the Super W competition was a huge achievement for women’s rugby in Fiji and for the country.
The 55-five year old is from the Solomon Islands, but has been in Fiji teaching at the University of the South Pacific’s School of Education in Suva.
“From their past performance, they have proven they can compete at the top against the best teams. The Drua have really improved a lot throughout their past games and have substantiated their position in the competition.”
Dorovolomo bought tickets for his family.
“I am buying a ticket for my wife, grandson and myself and we are looking forward to watching the boys play on Saturday.”
Dorovolomo said he was a huge fan of Fijian Drua fly half Teti Tela and looked forward to seeing him play this weekend.
“I watched all of the boys’ games since the beginning of the season, and for me, Teti Tela would be the player I look forward to see playing on Saturday.”
He also plans to take timeoff from work to be able to attend the Drua’s second home game which will be against the Chiefs at Churchill Park in Lautoka on May 28.
