Expert to share key insights with stakeholders
OLIVER Martin from Twenty31 will share key insights and tourist market intelligence with local tourism stakeholders and international delegates alike at the three-day Fijian Tourism Expo (FTE).
According to statement from Tourism Fiji the destination development strategist has more than 18 years of experience working with countries throughout the globe.
It was stated that Twenty31 was an international consultancy firm based in Canada.
Mr Martin will be in Fiji to speak at the upcoming FTE event and will hold two industry-wide sessions and several smaller working group sessions throughout the three-day expo.
Tourism Fiji said Twenty31, with support from the Australian Government’s Market Development Facility (MDF), was providing technical assistance to the national Tourism Statistics Taskforce (TST) through the provision of the latest tourism data trends and analytics for Fiji’s key tourism source markets, including Australia, New Zealand
and America.
The TST was made up of representatives from the Ministry of Commerce, Trade, Tourism and Transport, Tourism Fiji, and Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association.
Permanent secretary for Commerce, Trade, Tourism and Transport and head of the TST, Shaheen Ali said global tourism — as an industry ecosystem — had become relatively more complex. “The behaviour of visitors has evolved, and markets are rapidly responding to this change,” he said.
“As policy makers and businesses, we need to keep track and respond appropriately.
“I’m certain the expertise Twenty31 brings to the FTE will be as insightful and informative for our industry partners, as it has been for us.
“So, I encourage tourism stakeholders to take advantage of this opportunity to attend these sessions at the upcoming expo.”
Mr Martin had assisted over 50 tourism management organisations to develop sustainable growth plans.
While in country, he would also conduct an exclusive session with TST members on how to make the most of the new live tourism sentiment dashboards which has been setup for Fiji to inform tourism policy and strategy in an ever-changing market.
Tourism Fiji CEO Brent Hill said the sessions by Twenty31 would truly add value to the FTE event.
“This is exciting,” he said. “We know these presentations will interest and benefit many of our tourism industry and we’re grateful to our TST partners, including MDF for organising these sessions.”
The Fijian Tourism Expo 2022 will be held at the Denarau Island Conference Centre at the Sheraton Fiji Golf and Beach Resort from May 11 to 13.
