Women’s constant support
CDean of the Holy Trinity Anglican Cathedral Church.
HRIST is Risen, and He is risen indeed Alleluia! Greetings to you all in the name of the risen Christ. This year’s Mother’s Sunday is not just about the conveying of our emotions to our real mother, but it’s a day of reaching out to each and every woman who has been a source of constant support for us and showered us with all the motherly affection and love in every phase of our life.
From your sister, wife, daughter to your grandmother, and it’s also a chance to wish a happy Mother’s Day to your mother-inlaw, whose loving care helped shape the person you chose to marry.
In the northern hemisphere the month of May brings the height of spring blooming. In pre-Christian times May 1 was a feast day heralding the fertility of the earth, and was dedicated to different goddess figures such as Artemis (Greece) and Flora (Rome).
In medieval times the month of May slowly became dedicated to different celebrations of Mary, whose ‘yes’ to God is the witness to fruitfulness. (Christine Valters Paintner, ‘Faces of Mary to call on in Prayer’, May 28, 2019)
A mothers ‘yes’ is embedded in the marvelous creation of God with all His qualities of love, affection, and care. They are sent to the earth in different forms to take care of His children and contribute their lot in making them wonderful human beings.
With their unconditional love and inevitable support, people can achieve any milestone just by implying some brains and hard work.
She is the one who makes home a worthy place to live in, and in her absence, everything seems to be just futile.
Therefore, this international occasion of Mother’s Day is celebrated to acknowledge the true spirit of motherhood and express one’s love and gratitude towards her for making us who we are.
If words are falling short to convey heartfelt emotions to her, then sending Mother’s Day messages boasting with hearty and unexpressed sentiments is an incredible thought to take further your Mother’s Day celebrations.
To all our mothers, remember you are our strength and our motivation and you are the one behind all our achievements.
We would not have been the same person had you not been our mother. Thanks for making us a successful and responsible person.
Wishing you all very Happy Mother’s Day and blessings be upon you all.
