THE main attraction, apart from rugby 7s, during the twoday Fiji Bitter Malomalo 7s is the delicacy for the people of Malomalo Village. Malomalo is part of Nadroga and is beyond the popular Natadola Championship Golf course which once hosted the Fiji International Golf Championship. The 2022 Fiji Bitter Malomalo 7s tournament is to raise funds for the people of Malomalo Village for their project of getting piped water into their homes. The village is part of the eight villages that make up Malomalo district. The villages are Batiri, Sanasana, Malele, Togobula, Naveisabasaba, Vusama and Nahoo. Officials and guests were treated to the Malomalo district delicacy, known as Huluwa vakalolo (squid cooked in coconut milk) or kuita in Bauan dialect. It is the traditional food of the people of Malomalo.
