Opening hours

-

ALMOST all commercial banks operate on the weekdays between 9am and 4pm. I believe they are all closed for business on Saturdays. Majority of their customers are unable to access their services because of their own working hours. So when the people are free, the banks are closed. Can the banks please consider opening on Saturdays so that we do not have to apply for leave during weekdays? At least for a half day? Kerekere! DINESH KUMAR

Less batter

THE only good thing about the flour price increase is there will now be less batter and more fish in our fish and chips.

No more roti

I HAD to sit my kid down and explain to her the change in her lunch box her mum will be making come Friday. No more roti, no more sandwiches, no more pancakes for breakfast. Wife quipped from the kitchen, “Dad to collect firewood after work on a daily basis”.

Who is to blame?

FUEL prices have gone up and are getting more expensive than before. Well, who do we blame this issue for? Whose fault do you think it is? In my opinion, I really don’t think that the Government has something to do with this. Ever since the war in Ukraine started, can you observe the changes happening around you? If yes, then I think that we all shouldn’t jump to conclusions.

Good response

PROFESSOR Wadan Narsey’s response (FT 7/05) to the A-G was piercingly profound. His well-researched information even made sense to someone like me who has no real grasp of economics. If what you’re saying is true (and I have no reason to doubt your integrity), then I believe the A-G and the FFP Government have a lot to answer for. COLIN DEOKI Australia

Horse power

IT’S interesting to read comments on horses given to farmers instead of machines for farming in Nadroga (FT 7/5). Maybe the horse power is more suitable to reach all the corners of the farm. Food for thought. TAHIR ALI
