THE stage is all set for the 2022 Digicel Fiji Football Association Cup Tournament (Fiji FACT).

Four matches will be played on Sunday at the ANZ Stadium in Suva before the tournament proper kicks off at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka on Thursday, May 26.

Tailevu Naitasiri and NZOTC Nasinu will kick start the tournament at the ANZ Stadium on Sunday at 11am followed by a clash between All in One Builders Nadi against Navua at 1pm.

Digicel Premier League points table leaders and FACT defending champion Ram’s Cleaning Services Suva will face RC Manubhai Ba at 3pm while Rewa will take on NZ Fan Club Labasa at 5pm.

Fiji FA chief executive officer Mohammed Yusuf said fans around the country would have an opportunity to watch their teams in action.

“Those fans who will not be able to travel to Sigatoka to watch their teams play will have the chance to watch them play in the first round in Suva,” said Yusuf.

Yusuf said all matches this weekend would be like a final.

“First match for every team in the tournament is very crucial and I am sure all the teams will come out well prepared for the opener.

“This year we have seen a lot of competition in the premier league and it is hard to predict which team will win and that is what makes the tournament interesting.

“I am sure the fans have enjoyed the level of competition in the first round of the DPL and for sure there will be more in this year’s Fiji FACT because all the teams will want to lift the trophy from Lawaqa Park after 20 years.

“I am sure the four matches lined up at the ANZ Stadium will give fans worth buying the tickets.”

Ticket prices for adults at the grandstand is $15 and for children will be $8. The embankment price for adults is $10 while for children $5.
