ONE of the world’s leading deodorant brands, Rexona, has joined forces with Bula Events Group as the major sponsors of the 2022 Suva Business House Mixed Volleyball League.

The 10-week competition will start on May 25 and will be played at the National Netball Centre.

Event organiser Alan Kumar says the competition will be sanctioned under the Fiji Volleyball Federation rules and regulations.

Kumar said the main aim was to provide a platform to raise awareness on non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in the community.

“While the aim is to minimise NCDs in our country through sporting activities, we are also promoting volleyball to identify raw talents,” he said.

“It will also encourage social networking and promote healthy living all at the same time.

“We are hosting a volleyball event for the very first time and expect a field of 32 teams.

“This will attract nearly 500 players. The partnership with such an iconic brand like Rexona could not have come at a better time.”

Kumar said this league was also a great sports networking event for the Suva business community.

“A total prizemoney of $3000 is up for grabs in the competition,” he said.

“We expect quality competition amongst the teams which will create a close working relationship with the Suva Volleyball Association to deliver the best results.”

Distributed in Fiji by the Motibhai Group, the Rexona brand is synonymous with building confidence amongst athletes and sports loving people.

Motibhai Group marketing and business development manager Abraham Gomes said the company was extremely proud to be the major sponsors of the business house volleyball in Suva.

“We are certain that our sponsorship will take this great event to another level while promoting healthy living along the way,” Gomes said.

“This event is a great way to stay healthy while establishing good business networks at the same time.

“It is our firm belief that this year the players and officials will end up making more friends and the matches will take place in a friendly atmosphere.

“We are also excited to launch our own mixed team and we wish every team all the best.”
