Competition to promote gender equality
THE opening of the 2022 Rexona Business House Mixed Volleyball League will set a platform in promoting gender equality.
A total of 38 teams participated at the National Netball Centre in Suva on Wednesday night and also coincided with the second round of pool games between the four respective pools.
Event organiser Alan Kumar said the working committee decided to organise a volleyball league so that mixed teams could be part of the event as a positive step towards gender equality in the country.
“We had around 700 people in attendance. It’s a first for Bula Events Group to host volleyball and we are very glad with our sponsors Rexona without whom this event would not have been a reality,” he said.
“Volleyball is a non-contact sport and this paves the way for everyone to be part of the games irrespective of your gender and fitness level.”
