Do or die semis

- By ROHIT DEO

THERE will be everything to play for for the four teams taking part in the semi-finals of the 2022 Digicel Fiji FACT at Lawaqa Park today.

Suva and Lautoka had the opportunity to test their players in their last pool matches having qualified to the semis beforehand.

Ba and Labasa had to fight tooth and nail to secure their spots, having to go through a much tougher path.

All that will not matter in knockout football as all four teams eyes that two crucial berths in the final.

The first semi-final sees a much improved Ba side take on Labasa. Ba has shown glimpses of its potential in the pool stages while Labasa, just like any other tournament, will be a force to be reckoned with.

Labasa will go into this one with an upper hand, but at the back of their minds, they’ll know Ba will capitalise if given chances.

The second semi-final is expected to be a cracker. Undoubtedly, the current top two teams in the country, Lautoka and Suva will clash.

They have been sharing glory in the national league in the past couple of years and a lot of pride will be at stake in this semi-final.

Suva are undefeated this season and Lautoka may have to be at their best to beat them.

Lautoka’s Sairusi Nalaubu is yet to find form and he’s teammates will be hoping this changes when they face Nalaubu’s former side.

Ba battles Labasa at 2.30pm while Suva takes on Lautoka at 5pm.

The final is scheduled for 3pm to

Nadi Legends football side at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka.
