A high pressure system to the far south of the Fiji group continues to generate and direct fresh to strong east to northeasterly winds over the country. Forecast to midnight tomorrow for the Fiji group: For eastern & southern Viti Levu [Ra-Rakiraki-Tailevu-Rewa-Nasinu-Suva-Lami-Navua to Natadola], Yasawa and Mamanuca group, Lau and Lomaiviti groups, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, southern Bua and Cakaudrove: Strong east to northeast winds with average speed of up to 45km/hr. For the rest of the group: Moderate to fresh east to northeasterly winds, gusty at times. Rough to very rough seas. Cloudy periods with brief showers over Yasawa and Mamanuca, Tavua and Rakiraki, Tailevu, Suva-Nausori, northeastern Macuata, Cakaudrove and southern Bua, Lau and Lomaiviti groups. Elsewhere, fine apart from isolated afternoon or evening showers and thunderstorms. Cool nights.
