Rugby battle

-

IN terms of rugby, this weekend is one of excitement and inspiration. At home there is the finals of secondary schools rugby. While many fans eagerly await the boys’ final between Suva Grammar School and Marist Brothers High School, my biggest inspiration is the girls’ rugby.

As Natabua High School and Jasper Williams clash in the finals of the Raluve Championship, they will inspire many girls to take up rugby in the new year at competitive levels both locally and internationally. In the Land of the Long of the White Clouds, coach Seruvakula will marshal the Fijiana side against England. Bring it on, bring on the best. Some say “who dare wins” but for our women playing rugby it’s more like “who dare crosses our path” as we ready for battle. United as a team and a nation, we stand by our ladies.

Nasese, Suva fair elections. I think it is grossly unfair for frontmen of the other coups to have absolved themselves of all wrongs and got off scot-free.

Come judgement day, if you believe in some omnipotence, the highest power will not discriminate. Justice will be served.

We were all born being able to discern the truth, what is right and what is wrong, and that alone will set you free.

You don’t have to continually be scared of saying what you truly feel.

They can take everything away from you, but that is the one thing they can’t take and that is your inner peace that you have done the right thing.

This world is finite, the next is infinite.

Vote wisely for a Fiji you really want to live in, be happy, and thrive with. EDWARD HERMAN Melbourne, Australia
