Hospital and general election Tired CWMH
IF what we all read in the recent print media is true and a fairly accurate account of our old, faithful and tiring CWM Hospital of World War I and II fame, 1914-1918 and 1939-1945, then I rise to this opportunity and take courage to sincerely thank all the hundreds of dedicated nurses, doctors, surgeons and support staff who diligently persevered through the long years with ageing and failing infrastructure. I understand. In this modern day and age; and uncertainty, one can get disciplined for speaking the truth. This is so sad. Suddenly losing one’s employment because our superiors do not agree with us, is always extremely heartless, painful, and damaging to one’s character and wellbeing. It destroys our self confidence.
Thank you for being the silent minority (or majority) in serving all patients faithfully in spite of the ageing limitations stacked against you over numerous decades.
(It appears, through public perception, CWMH is not good enough now for many top notches, in Fiji). They can afford the best medical facilities, overseas.
Apart from all other amenities I have always shuddered at how does one get to modernise showers and toilets which are over a hundred years old? That’s my million dollar question, shared in good faith, dignity and respect; without fear or favour. Just being honest. Nothing more; nothing less.
