Against Scotland three of our men were sent to the sin bin while one received a red card against Ireland. There is no room for indiscipline at test level rugby. We need not look far for motivation. The ability of Samoa to progress to the grand finals of the Rugby League World Cup should be a source of inspiration. After being crushed 6-60 by England in an earlier match, Samoa defeated England in a nil biting semifinal which had fans on their feet until the last second. The bottom line is that Samoa played with purpose and believed in themselves. They played like it was their last game putting their bodies and soul on the line. Similarly, earlier this year, the Samoan team at Churchill Park did not let the results of the first half disappoint them but they returned to the second half to defeat a highly fancied Flying Fijians.
One hopes that constructive criticism is taken in good faith, leading to a more purposeful performance come the Rugby World Cup.
