PM to voters: Vote wisely

- By SERAFINA SILAITOGA

FIJIFIRST party leader and Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama has pleaded with Fijians to vote wisely in the upcoming 2022 General Election with pre-poll starting next Monday

And for citizens to choose the party that united everyone without any indigenous targeted policies that causes discrimination and division among all Fijians.

That party, he said is the FijiFirst which he captains.

“Unity brings blessings. We will be blessed when we are united and treated equally,” he said.

“The only aim of other political parties is to take us out but for me and my team, we will serve all Fijians equally and prioritise everyone’s plight.

“No Fijian will be left behind.” In speaking to his supporters in Wairiki Village, Bua, Savusavu, Labasa and villages of Naidi, Urata, Buca and Valeni in Cakaudrove, Mr Bainimarama said Naitasiri was ignored by past governments.

“Naitasiri supplied electricity to the country yet they didn’t have a any electricity supply,” he said.

“The electric wires ran over their villages to Suva and left them in darkness. It was the FijiFirst Government that provided electricity to the people of Naitasiri.

“We are here to serve all Fijians.” Party candidate Inia Seruiratu told supporters in Labasa that in the eyes of God everyone was equal.

Therefore, the FijiFirst party would continue to uphold equality and treat all citizens equally.

“Development of Vanua Levu was way way behind compared to Viti Levu and our leader Voreqe Bainimarama saw this so he sent me back to be Commissioner Northern in 2007,” he said.

“Most land leases in Vanua Levu expired and because it was politicised under the 1997 Constitution, past government forgot the value of farmers and unfortunately many moved to Viti Levu.”
