Upset of the decade
GERMANY is out of the race for the FIFA World Cup 2022 trophy.
The four-time Soccer World Cup champions failed to qualify for the round of 16 despite thrashing Costa Rica 4-2. Spain, on the other hand, has a better goal difference even after being beaten by Japan 2-1.
Gnabry gave Germany the lead in the 10th minute of the match. They led Costa Rica 1-0 at half time. Tejeda equalised for Costa Rica in the 58th minute and took a 2-1 lead in the 70th minute, courtesy of the own goal by the Germans.
