- By FELIX CHAUDHARY

DOMO Vou Talei 2022 finalist Amos Simpson will take to the stage at this year’s Woodstock Uprising Music Festival but this time he won’t be flying solo.

Amos will be there as part of Waikama, a band out of Savusavu which features his guitarist/ vocalist brother Robin Simpson – a musician of note in Australia.

Robin has moved back to the Hidden Paradise and brought with him a wealth of knowledge amassed over the years gigging around the Land Down Under.

Waikama is bringing their unique blend or rock, rhythm and blues, funk and reggae to Pacific Harbour and are ready to set the stage alight come Saturday October 7.

Waikama will be sharing the same stage as the 10 Domo Vou Talei 2023 original song finalists vying for up to $9000 in cash prizes – the $5000 grand final prize courtesy of Westpac, $3000 People’s Choice Award courtesy of and $1000 Best Performance Award courtesy of Kaila!

The competition is a brainchild of the Australian High Commission. The finalists had their songs recorded by legendary producer Phil Dakei at Tiny Sounds studio, music videos shot by Dave ‘Mr Grin’ Lavaki of FirstFighter and were prepared vocally and for the stage by award-winning artist Suni Soko Loga.
