$100K in charity

THE Fiji Public Trustee Corporatio­n Ltd (FPTCL) this week announced the facilitati­on of a total gift of $50,000 each to the Fiji Red Cross Society and Home of Compassion on behalf of the estate of the late Joyce Heeraman.

“This charitable initiative re ects Ms Heeraman’s enduring commitment to supporting humanitari­an causes and providing comprehens­ive care for those in need,” FPTCL said in a statement.

“The donation, stemming from the establishm­ent of a charitable trust by Joyce Heeraman, embodies her compassion­ate spirit and desire to make a positive impact on the under privileged, needy and old aged citizens in society.

The funds will support the Fiji Red Cross Society’s ongoing efforts to serve vulnerable citizens and respond effectivel­y to emergencie­s and disasters across Fiji while the Home of Compassion will receive timely support to expand their services.

FPTCL chief executive officer Tevita Kuruvakadu­a expressed gratitude for the opportunit­y to facilitate the contributi­on.

“Though Joyce may no longer be with us in body, her spirit lives on in the countless acts of kindness and generosity that continue to ripple through our community,” he said.

“May her memory be a source of inspiratio­n to us all, motivating us to follow in her footsteps and to make a positive impact wherever we go.”

Representa­tives from the Fiji Red Cross Society and Home of Compassion conveyed their appreciati­on for the generous gift and emphasised their commitment to using the funds to enhance their programs and reach more individual­s in need, ensuring that Ms Heeraman’s legacy continues to create positive change.

FPTCL, entrusted with administer­ing Ms Heeraman’s estate, meticulous­ly ensured that her charitable vision is honoured, allowing her legacy of kindness to continue ourishing.
